JOB DETAIL
Looking for a Japanese-Speaking ASEAN Regional HQ HRBP Head (Or HRBP Officer).
You will be responsible for Strategic / Regional HR partner for the ASEAN region.
- This role is responsible for redesigning and embedding talent, organizational, and HR systems aligned with business strategy, and for building a sustainable multinational organizational platform that supports mid- to long-term business growth.
You will be working closely with HR/Admin Manager of Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia branch.
1. HR Systems Design and Implementation (Most important)
-Job grading system
-Modify existing frameworks created by external consultants and translate them into practical operations
-Compensation system design and review
-Review and redesign benefits programs, particularly for manager-level employees
-Performance management system
-Redesign and re-embed the system introduced in 2020, which has not been fully utilized
-Localize HR systems and policies to fit each country’s context
-Detailed knowledge of local labor laws is not required
2. Organizational Development (Key Focus Area)
-Develop and strengthen local manager capabilities
-Design and promote delegation of authority from expatriate Managing Directors to local managers
-Build sustainable management layers and organizational resilience
-Establish and enhance talent management frameworks and visibility
3. Talent Management / Executive Talent
- Identify and visualize key talents and executive candidates across the ASEAN region
- Design and implement succession planning to reduce dependency on individuals
- Define talent and specialist requirements in line with future business needs
- Develop regional recruitment strategies and support local HR teams in execution
- Act as a strategic HR function close to management
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate HR initiatives from a business and management perspective
4. Management of Local HR Teams
- Provide guidance and support to local HR and administration managers across ASEAN
- Communicate ASEAN-wide HR strategies based on business and management direction
- Work closely with local HR teams to jointly implement and revise HR systems and rules in alignment with local practices
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
■Common requirements for both HR Head and HR Officer positions:
- Bachelor's degrees in related fields
- Business-level English proficiency (Need to communicate with local HR/Admin staff in each branch in ASEAN)
- Upper-intermediate to Business-level Japanese proficiency (You will report and discuss with Japan HQs and Japanese MDs in each branch)
- Hands-on experience in HR system design and implementation
- Experience working in an HR role close to executive management
- Strong ability to work across cultures and manage diverse stakeholders
- Experience working in ASEAN or overseas environments
- Experience in talent management and succession planning
■For HRBP Head
-Must have experience in regional or multi-country HR management
**Candidates with experience limited to a single country are not suitable
■For HRBP Officer
- Experience working under an HRBP Manager
- Experience working under an HRBP Manager
Advantage: Experience in the manufacturing industry
(Their overall business, as their parent company is a manufacturer and the ASEAN RHQ oversees sales operations across the ASEAN region.)
Note: Business travel to Japan Headquarters and ASEAN countries is required.
