1. Pattern Creation and Development:
- Create precise and accurate patterns for footwear based on design specifications and prototypes.
- Work with designers to understand the vision and technical requirements of the footwear, ensuring that patterns are functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically aligned with the brand's vision.
- Develop both flat and 3D patterns for different types of footwear (e.g., boots, sneakers, sandals).
- Adjust and refine patterns based on prototype testing and fit evaluations.

2. Technical Specifications:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications, including pattern pieces, stitching details, and measurements.
- Provide clear guidelines for material usage and construction methods, ensuring the patterns are suitable for mass production.
-Work with production teams to ensure pattern specifications are correctly followed during manufacturing.

3. Material and Construction Knowledge:
- Have a deep understanding of different footwear materials (leather, rubber, textiles, etc.) and how they impact pattern design and fitting.
- Ensure patterns accommodate the appropriate seam types, reinforcements, and allowances for materials used.

4. Prototyping and Sample Creation:
- Collaborate with footwear designers to create prototypes and samples, using patterns to cut and assemble materials.
- Conduct fitting sessions with prototypes, identifying any areas for improvement in fit, comfort, or design.
- Revise patterns as needed based on sample testing and feedback to ensure the final product meets quality standards.

5. Pattern Adjustments and Refinements:
- Make adjustments to patterns based on feedback from fit sessions, wear tests, and customer feedback.
- Fine-tune pattern grading to ensure the footwear fits a range of sizes correctly, maintaining consistency across all sizes.

6. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with footwear designers, product developers, and production teams to ensure patterns align with the overall vision for the product line.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure patterns are produced in line with the timeline and budget.

7. Pattern Documentation and File Management:
- Maintain a well-organized archive of all patterns and pattern modifications for future reference and production.
- Keep up-to-date records of pattern changes, revisions, and updates to track the development process.

8. Quality Control and Precision:
- Ensure all patterns are accurately drafted, with precise measurements, proportions, and construction details.
- Perform quality checks on patterns and finished samples to ensure they meet the company's standards for fit, function, and design.

9. Trend Research and Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in footwear design and pattern-making technologies.
- Experiment with new techniques, materials, and patterns to innovate and push the boundaries of design.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field (preferred).
- Specialized training or certification in footwear pattern making (a plus).
- 3-5 years of experience in footwear pattern making or a related field.
- Strong portfolio of previous footwear pattern work (including both design and functional patterns).
- Proficient in pattern-making techniques and tools (e.g., manual drafting, CAD software).
- Familiarity with footwear construction processes (e.g., stitching, lasting, molding).
- Knowledge of footwear fitting standards and size grading.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in pattern development.
- Ability to interpret and work from design sketches, prototypes, and technical drawings.
-Proficiency in CAD software (such as Adobe Illustrator, Optitex, USM or Shoemaker or other pattern-making software) is preferred.
